Random Product Reviews - Urban Decay, Philosophy, Formula X

URBAN DECAY Sheer Revolution Lipstick is everything you love about the original Revolution lipstick, but with a sheer, shiny finish. Every shade features a rich, creamy feel and a gorgeous, high-shine finish. Like Urban Decay’s original formula, this sheer lipstick hugs lips, sweeping on with an ultra-smooth, budge-free application.

Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™ gives Sheer Revolution its creamy texture, ultimate color dispersion, and extended wear. Infused with a nourishing blend of oils and antioxidants Maxi-Lip™, it defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. Shea butter, jojoba, olive, and babassu oils moisturize and condition, while vitamin C and vitamin E provide a dose of antioxidants.

I really loved each of these colors, and the formula was rich, moisturizing and silky. The fuschia is the only one I didn't want to run out and buy in full-size, but that's because my lovely tea-stained teeth didn't exactly go well with the bright pink. The full-size lipsticks are available at Sephora for $22 each.

PHILOSOPHY Amazing Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel - a three-in-one gel infused with the beloved Amazing Grace fragrance to leave you feeling amazingly clean and beautifully feminine.

PHILOSOPHY Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel & Eye Makeup Remover - a foaming facial cleansing gel and eye makeup remover.

PHILOSOPHY Hope In A Jar Moisturizer - a cult-favorite moisturizer that gently hydrates, exfoliates, and protects the skin.

I was not fond of these products overall.  The only one I liked was the Amazing Grace product, which I used as a shower gel only.  It foamed up nicely and had a light clean fragrance.  The Purity Made Simple facial cleanser had an astringent smell.  I didn't mind it, but it wasn't super cleansing either.  The Hope In A Jar just straight up stunk.  Not only that, but I had an irritated patch of skin that flared up immediately upon application and burned for several minutes.  I've heard good things about Philosophy and hope to try some of their other products in the future, but I won't be using these again.

FORMULA X Shifters Nail Polish in Grandiose - a rose and bronze metallic lacquer that shimmers with a kaleidoscopic effect.

FORMULA X Electrics Nail Polish in Seismic - a vivid electric cantaloupe nail lacquer in dynamic neon pearl and shimmer shades.

FORMULA X Shifters Nail Polish in Heroic - a lilac and gold metallic lacquer that shimmers with a kaleidoscopic effect.

I liked these polishes, in particular the Grandiose.  The photos really can't do them justice.  The Grandiose had an almost holographic quality - one angle rose, one angle bronze.  The Seismic had a matte quality when it dried and was a very bright, nearly neon shade.  The Heroic had glittery effects.  Although it was from the same line as the Grandiose, it had a much different appearance.  I used three coats of each to achieve a solid color, but the polish did not cake up or sit thickly on my nails and they dried very quickly.  I would recommend Formula X.
