Julep Packages I Received This Past Week

The folks at Julep have me eating from the palms of their hands, between Savvy Deals, coupon codes and the "Secret Store".  I'm just not very fond of the monthly box selections so I'm constantly on the lookout for other ways to get what I want for little to nothing.

The first four I received I spoke about a little in my post, Julep (Welcome Box - May 2014).  I got Shannon, a Spring honeydew silk with my promotional welcome code for 50% off ($7), and the other three from the "Secret Store".  Catrina, a marigold yellow crème was on sale for $3, and the two-pack (Vision of Love) including Bailey, a hyped cobalt blue, and Ramona, a muted lavender rose crème, only cost me $10.

Bailey and Ramona will be used on a massive manicure project, which is an endeavor I will probably embark on in the fall when college basketball season starts back up.  I've already got my decals, pearls and rhinestones!  YAY!

I had my eye on a lovely golden apricot shimmer, Saaya, and had seen a quote on the Glycolic Hand Scrub that perked my interest:

"After one use of Glycolic Hand Scrub, my dry hands felt so much softer!” -Emily, Sneak Peek Maven

The coupon code search was on!  And as if a sign from above, coupon code "POLISHPERK" came into my life.  Buy the hand scrub, made with natural apricot seeds, at regular price of $23, receive a free polish ($14 value).

Now I'm finished, right?

Well, then I get a Facebook invitation to RSVP for their "Red Marker Sale"... with items "up to 85% off" and "polishes starting at just $2".  I can't say that the selection was great, but the prices were phenomenal.  In fact, I kinda wanted to return the two polishes (Kimberly, a black speckled wisteria crème, and Nadia, a sun-kissed golden frost), but at 2 bucks a pop... I suppose I'll use them at some point.  The best deal I got was the Julep Glow On Age Defying Hand Brightener.  A regular $32 hand cream that contains rare African plant extracts clinically proven to block melanin production and reduce hyper-pigmentation, it visibly minimizes the appearance of fine lines and age spots on your hands while adding radiant glow and evening skin tone.  I got it... for $6.

LADIES, if you're in your 20's, please for the love of God, start using exfoliating hand scrubs and anti-aging creams.  When it's too late, it's awfully hard (and expensive) to reverse.  That first age spot can be devastating.  And one day you'll look at your hands and wonder when they got so old-looking.  STOP IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!

Here's a look at my two most recent home manicures a la Julep (Saaya on the left, Catrina on the right):
